ABOUT

A graduate of the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, she got her degree in Directing and Management from the Johnny Carson School of Theatre & Film. In 2014, she co-founded Death & Pretzels, a company dedicated to exploring oddity, antiquity and ensemble-built experiences.  Her credits with them include directing and producing The Dybbuk, Gruoch, or Lady Macbeth, Anatomy of Gray, very still & hard to see, Musical Therapy, Helmut's Big Day, The Basement Company, The Book of Maggie, I, Cockroach, Helvetica, Break Through and A Murder Most Novel. 

Madison has been fortunate enough to work with several other companies in the city, like the Actor's Gymnasium, Hell in a Handbag, The Chicago Musical Theatre Festival, Beverly Theater Guild, Summerplace Theatre, and Team Starkid among others. Madison has also directed staged readings with Three Cat Productions. She has assisted Matt Hawkins twice- at RedTwist and the House Theatre of Chicago, and recently assisted Derek Van Barham at Hell in a Handbag Productions. 

In 2017, Madison, along with D&P and fellow resident companies Reutan Collective and Otherworld Theatre, co-founded the Nox Arca Theatre cooperative in the Ravenswood neighborhood. Nox was eventually taken over full time by the D&P company members and ran as a small black box venue, which included regular renters and small up-and-coming new resident companies. Due to the events of 2020 Covid19 Pandemic, Nox was forced to shutter and no longer resides at the Ravenswood location, though we remain hopeful the venue model will have new life again somewhere else in the future.

When she's not directing and producing, or talking about herself in the third person, Madison does freelance floral design work. Check out the Other tab to get a look at her creations. In addition to that, Madison can often be found at home, marathoning Star Trek and spending quality time with her cats.
